Liver enzyme

by dc53, Jul 05, 2001 12:00AM
My liver ezyme is elevated  my AST is 27 and my GT is 84. I don't drink acohol but I do take 2 vicodins a day for bad leg pain due to it being broken in two places in 1996. I started taking the vicodins in 1998 because I have screws in my leg and it hurts real bad. Could the vicodins cause my liver enzyme to be elevated?  If so what other medication can I take for the pain in my leg?  I am 48 years old.

everything you eat, drink, smoke, breathe or rub on your skin is eventually filtered through the liver...that is its primary function.  is there any way you can live without the pain meds? if not, I was put on vitamin c (100), vitamin e (400), and choline/inositol (comes combined in only one dosage) every day and it brought my enzymes down.  good luck!
