Liver hemangiomas

by glanz, Mar 03, 2002 12:00AM
I have been living in pain now for 7+ years I am a 32 year old male. I had these pains in my RUQ and say my doctor did numberous tests and last May had my gallblader removed. Well that wasn't the problem the pain is still there and I have learned I have many hemangiomas on my liver. Is surgery an option to remove theese to make the pain go away?

I have a liver hemangioma as well.  It is my understanding that they are totally benign and are not likely the cause of your pain.  Also, they should be LEFT ALONE as disturbing them in any way can cause bleeding and other problems.  If left alone they are generally harmless.  I think the pain must be something else going on.
