Long term use of Prilosec and pregnancy

by Josie, Jul 02, 2001 12:00AM
I've been on Prilosec 20mg 2x a day for the past 6 years.  I've tried to wean myself off the Prilosec but my symptoms are too severe.
Can you tell me of your are able to become pregnant and have a healthy child while being on Prilosec?  I asked several GI doctors and OB/Gyne doctors and they are unable to answer my question.

My GI doctor has suggested Nissen fundoplication and removal of my gallbladder but from what I've read on your website I'm not sure if that would be the right choice because of many complications.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Josie
