Loose Bowels going on 8 weeks

by PSmith2280, Sep 27, 2008 06:43PM
After a severe bout of diarrhea (about one day, I thought it was something I ate) I have had loose bowels for 8 weeks.  I was checked for infection but it was negative.  I had upper endo about 3 months ago and was told everything was fine.  I have had IBS symptoms but never for this long.  I was on a BRAT diet for 2 days and did notice my stools bulked up a bit but returned to loose when I ate regular food again.  I am somewhat leery of returning to gastro doctor since I think he thinks this is all in my head.  Could loose bowels with mild cramping  just be my new "normal" BM?

Maybe your intestinal flora is off.  You could go to a health food store and maybe the clerk can show you some digestive probiotics to help?

I'd continue to eat bananas if those help.
