Loose Stool with Blood

It's now 5 days since I've had loose stool with fresh blood. I have had some stomach pain but not a lot - I've had no vomiting or any headaches. I seem to have a good appetite, in fact at times I crave for food.

The blood looks very fresh and some of it comes out like tiny strips. Also with my stool I get some gelly-like stuff and at times it looks a bit reddish.

I am a bit fearful to go to see a Doctor so I thought I shall post my problem here first.

Regards,

Rod

Well, diarrhea is not typical for colorectal cancer to get straight to the point. The most probable cause of diarrhea with blood is a food poisoning with bacteria like E.coli, which cause rectal ulcers. Other causes are inflammatory bowel disease, or diverticulitis.

Contaminated food does not necesary smell or looks spoiled.

Go to the doctor and have a hemoccult test and stool culture for bacteria/parasites.
