Lower Abdomen Paid, Blood in stool and on Toilet Paper, and other various pain.

Hello, my name is Richard. I'm 22 very active in the US Coast Guard. I have a constant lower abdominal pain, sometimes an acking pain in my left side that shoots over to the right, just recently i've been experiencing bad acid reflex and heartburn. When i was 16 I was in the hospital for seemingly large amounts of bright red blood in my stool. An endoscopy and a colonoscopy was done; they found that my lower intestines were extremly iritated and swollen, but they were unable to make a diagnoses, they origionally said that it was Chrone's Disease (can't spell) but then they called it "Bacterial Infectous Collitis." Since then the consistency of the pain has gotten worse, although i don't see the blood in my stool as often it's always on the toilet paper. I Do Not have a hemeroid. No discomfort when i sit down. I've also noticed that i've had a hard time concentrating, and maybe some slight depression symptoms to follow with lower back pain. Can anyone help please.

Hi Richard, my name is Nathan, it's "funny" you say that it happened when you were 16, i am 16 right now and have lower  ab. pain and just found  a streak of blood about 2 - 2 1/2  cm long after wiping, and the abdomibal pain persists, what is wrong with me?

No problem. Even if its a drawn out process its best to get that checked out. You dont want to be anemic from having daily blood loss. Either way, have it checked it out, and keep us updated.

Thank you very much for you assistance. The reason i have been hesitant to pay a doctor a visit is because this has been happening since i was 16. I am also aware that it is a very misrable drawn out doctor visit if it is not hemmorids. Last time i visited a doctor when i was 19 the doctor virtually asked me if i was constipated and took no furthur action, thus, i wanted an idea of what is going on. My lower abdomin has been consistantly burning which makes me feel as if i have to make a bowl movement when i actualy don't or when i just did. In no way am i implying that you think this, however, if i were being a hypochondriact i would pick better symptoms, lol. Again, i appreciate your help!

Could be hemmorhoids, they tend to do that when they are flared up. However, blood in the toilet should at least warrant a trip to the doctor to check up for sure. Get an appointment with your doc, and have them check you out. Even if its hemmorhoids, they can get you some ointment to clear it up.

Sounds like you need to go back into a GI. It may actually be Chrons, and if so, you should be treated for it. Although, if Im not mistaken, Chrons is more consistant with the right side? Either way, I would visit a GI and see about getting another colonoscopy to diagnose if it is in fact Chrons or maybe even Ulcerative Colitis.
