MOTILIUM (domperidone)
Hi,
I've been taking Motilium for nearly 3 weeks now for Gastroparesis and they been helping me. But I've gained 4 lbs in that time. Has anyone else experienced weight gain with them? What I have read is that domperidone is a form of Anti-Depressant. When I was on anti-depressants I gained weight before, so that's what I'm thinking.
Is there any other medacation for Gastroparesis that doesn't cause weight gain? I've tried Gaviscon. It help's a little.

Hey Emma!

Yes, there are a few other medications for gastroparesis that may not cause significant weight gain. If it is an issue, you may consider seeking a review with your gastroenterologist for a possible change in medications.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
