Hi - I have just had an MRI for a stricture in my small intestine. Before the procedure I had to fill out a form and I remember one of the questions was: "Have you had any surgery with metallic clips?". So, the technicians are aware of the problem, but I have no idea what they do about it. I am sure it does not preclude you from having an MRI. You need to ask the doctor who ordered the MRI why it may be important.

Liz.

Thank you for responding.  I'm scared to get an MRI now because of the clips.  Never thought to ask my surgeon if they were magnetic or not.  Your reply has calmed me some.  (won't be totally ok with it until afterwards when I realize I was scared for no reason!  lol)
