Meds

I was just diagnoised with microscopic colitis after three months of "going", pain and weight loss.  I am on Entocort.  I feel like my size 2 body weighs 400 pounds, and sleep a lot.  At least before I could function minimally...I just couldn't leave the house.  I'm just trying to decide if although the med if working if 8 weeks on Entocort is going to be enough.  I'm guessing not since I have 11 months of refills.  That doesn't leave much room for optimism.  I though it might be helpful to know what others have experienced with this drug.  Any help?  Thanks? Lin, find out what form of MC you have. In some cases at least one form may be helped by a change in diet - elimination of either gluten or dairy. Do some reading on MC. It's a form of inflammatory bowel disease and should be actively treated in some manner. Give the entocort a try. If that doesn't work, you may want to talk to your doc about trying another med that's used to treat forms of IBD.

You might want to find out if anyone in your family - extended - suffers from celiac disease. It might help you pin down whether or not to try a gluten-free, dairy-free diet.
