Metastasis to the Lungs from Esophageal Cancer

by maganda88, Sep 18, 2009 05:39AM
My father had an esophagectomy August 2008 to remove a malignant tumor in his esophagus and it was aimed to be curative.  Nodules and scans were clear.  In August 2009 a nodule in his lung was found, and through tests, it was determined to be adenocarcinoma which originated from his esophagus.  A Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery was performed, and he is recommended to undergo chemotherapy.  What other possible treatments can he receive?  If he will undergo chemotherapy or targeted therapy, what drugs are recommended?  Perhaps there is someone who can share suggestions or experience in similar situation?
