Microscopic Colitis/Elevated Liver Enzymes

Can microscopic colitis cause liver enzymes to be elevated?  If so, can it cause liver damage?

I have heard of MC in persons that can be traced back to celiac disease that will result in elevated liver enzymes - moderately elevated levels. I have not read of direct correlations, however.
