Microscopic colitis

Hi i am 18 years old male.Recently my doctor diagnosed me with Microscopic colitis and high level of IgE antibodies in my blood.my doctor gave me prednisolone and Asacol but there has been no significant improvement in my health. i also suffer from diarrheoa. my question is how long is the treatment of UC or microscopic colitis because i am worried about the side effects of medicine.

Malik, MC is a form of inflammatory bowel disease. The treatment is going to take time so you're going to have to be patient. Hopefully your current medication will tamp down the inflammatory pattern and you'll be able to cut back on what you're taking.

You may also want to look into the possible link between dairy or gluten and MC problems since dietary changes might help.
