Hello,
My mom thought she had hemmoroids (hemorrhoids) for years and never went to the doctor until she had severe bleeding. Her blood count was low, down to a 5, she had to get 3 bags of blood before her colonscopy. Dr. found Villous Adenoma 7cm, removed it during the procedure. Results came back where it had cancerious cells inside he said. The sides had malignantCancer Gestational trophoblastic disease Lymphoma, malignant - ct scan Malignant melanoma Malignant otitis externa Melanoma of the eye Multiple myeloma Skin cancer, malignant melanoma tumor cells also. The stemStem cell research of this had no cancer in it. He gave her several options of what to do next. My mother doesn't want to get any other tests ran. She feels fine now, and is praying this removed the problem from her life. What would be the next step here. The rest of her colon had nothing in it. Would it be safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex to assume that she is okay now? Should she get radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy to the colon, meaning how likely is this to have spread or could it with the stemStem cell research being clean like that? It's a lot of uncertainty and my mother is very faithful to God and we are all praying of course. There is just so much uncertainty on this, with cancer being found inside this, what would be a next step here. My mom wants to wait now for a checkup in a few weeks/months, because she feels so great without this bothering her anymore. I'm still worried and it's on my mind constantly, I want to make sure all bases are covered as far as protecting/preventing anything else like this. Please help with any input, it would be greatly appreciated. My mom is 66, I am her daughter, Michele, 32.
Your mother should see an oncologist. More than likely they will not want to do any other treatment, but she will visit the oncologist every 2 months for a year, then every 3-4 months for year and then will finally end up only visiting 1 time a year. She will get blood tests and an exam. This should give her much comfortComfort pac with cyclobenzaprine Comfort pac with naproxen Comfort tears in knowing that the cancer has not come back.
I had colon cancer but is was early enough that I did not have to have any further treatment. However, the visit to the oncologist reassures me that it has not come back.
Don't just ignore it.
