test I did only took 30 mins to go through my small intestine and then into part of my large intestine too??? They told me it would take 2-4 hours. My x-ray tech even acted like it was weird. I asked her about it but she said she didn't know because she wasn't a doctor. I should hopefully hear back from my doctor in a few day's and if not I have an appointment to see him next Tuesday. But I'm a little conserned.
or anything though. My doc closed at 4 so I couldn't get in touch with anyone there. Should I just asume I'll be ok? Sorry this is just really causing me to stress out. Please help.
GoldFishy, make sure to drink a lot of water and flush the barium from your system even if you think you lost a lot of it earlier. You don't want residual barium causing discomfort.
Many people experience low-grade 'ugh' after a small barium series, so having a headache etc. isn't too unusual.
30 minutes is a bit fast, but I don't think anyone can give you an answer as to its cause until you see the doc and find out what he has to say. Basically all it means at this point is that you 'fast-forwarded' it through that area of the body. Whether that was due to spasms or other issues remains to be seen until they get a look at the films.
Thanks for your response. I still feel pretty icky today, but did have a "normalish" BM this morning so I don't think I'm all blocked up at least. I can also still taste the barium in the back of my throut ... really hope that goes away soon,
