Mystery Disease

I've had a chronic condition for about 6 months.  Syptoms include fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, reoccuring flu, gas, hot and cold flashes (I'm only 31, not pregnant).  I've had a CT scan of abdomen, head, and sinus, X-ray, upper ultrasound, various blood tests that came back negative.  The two tests that showed something wrong were an endoscopy that showed inflammation and hiatal hernia (prevacid helps with this) and an x-ray that showed malabsorption in the small intestine.  I've had blood test for Celiac's and a biopsy and the small intestine that came back negative.

Please help.  This condition is getting worse.  I've just lost my job and my insurance runs out at the end of the month.

Thanks guys.  I will ask doc if I have had the tests done already.  If not, I know which ones to request.

You may also want to consider that the blood test and the biopsy may not pick up signs of celiac issues despite what some in the medical profession say. Try a gluten-free diet for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference. Then, if you want further verification, go to enterolab.com and use he fecal antibody test to check for celiac and the presence of alleles that suggest a genertic predisposition.

hi, have you been tested for lactose intolerance? if you dont want to go through the three week breath tests for it, then try keeping away from dairy products for about two weeks, in this time you should know whether you are intolerant to lactose or not.
