,sugar and all other were normal, he is not overweight so Dr says there must be something else. If a person has Nash is it reversible? Are ther treatments?
can be reversed with medications and/or as I was told today with an improvement of my diet. I happen to be overweight and have lost some weight. Thank god. But I have to have a liver biopsy every year or when my liver enzymes go back up. I just had one and the results were not so good. I was told that since it was caught in time, I have a good chance of being treated....not sure what that means....Urso was one of the meds talked about...the other one, I had never heard of. I have to have my liver enzymes taken every 3 months. ;-(
I was also told that fibrotic tissue in the liver can lead
to cirrhosis or liver cancer, so it's not something to taken lightly.
I currently worl as a nurse on a liver transplant floor, so all of this scared the you know what out of me.....You don't have to be overweight to have NASH....Or at least to the best of my knowledge...I hope your husband is doing better. It's important to find a good doctor.
