Narrow stool, stomach issues, very worried

I am new to this site, but feel very scared about my symptoms.  In November I started to feel a bit nauseous and then I became ill with a resp. inf.w/ear infection. I was recently on Lexapro and Lisinopril for bp and PPD, along with my water pill.  I had also taken a z pack and amoxicillin for 10 days to clear my ear.  Well, once this was out of my system, I still felt terrible. Around mid Nov. I had an irregular bowel movement that was like diarrhea, followed by a stringy looking bowel movement, which scared me.  I don't always check my bowel movements, but I just felt like something was wrong this time.

A few days later, I noticed that the bowel movements were flat and narrow as a ruler and measured probably 1/2 or something around that.  Sounds weird, but I have researched this and points to cc. Since that day, the bowel movements still have been odd.  I don't always go every day, and sometimes they come out like little beads with mucus, which was alarming.  The nausea was still with this as well.

I called my doctor and said it could be due to Lexapro, which was discontinued.  However, a wk later, I still had the same symptoms and saw her.  She said it sounds like impaction. She gave me Glyco lax and enemas, but I am still have narrow stools.  I go back today, but I am really nervous.  I am also having some pain in my right side-noticed after I ate peanuts.  I was wondering if anyone has had anything like this? Thanks

Every day in December I felt the nausea, but never vomited. Then, the first week of December I had

I know what you are going through as I have had all these problems on and off for 3 years and mine all started when I got a really bad head cold and I was taking a bunch of advil.  MY GI keeps saying it is IBS and just keeps pushing all these different meds to me.  I constantly have a burning and knawing feeling in my stomach and when it acts up I have an internal tremor and sureal feeling that comes over me.  Keep searching and ask as many questions as you would like, they are there to help you!!  I go back to my GI on the 19th and I am asking him to check my gallbladder as it seems from many things I have read this could be the cause of a lot of the symptoms we both have.

Good Luck!

My dr recommended a CT scan, but after several calls to her assistant this woman said it was ok.  I am so sick of that office.  I have to do all of the calling, and it is not like I am always going to them for things.  I just felt this, and my dr won't even bother to call me back.  Now, I am having terrible pain in my left side and back.

Narrow stools can be caused by a number of things. I know how it feels to worry, and the only way of getting to the bottom of it is by seeing your doctor. You need to have a colonscopy to determine what the cause of the mucous and thin stools are. If your doctor is not willing to follow you up, then find another that will!

I have been in your shoes. Find a good doctor!

I have similar symptoms occasionally. My stool varies from constipated to the flat, ribbon like.  Also occasional diarrhea.  I believe it's IBS.  Also, I've had right sided pain on and off for a year. I've had bloodtests, a pelvis U/S and a CT scan.  But my doctor thinks I'm a hypochondriac because I keep going back after they've told me there is nothing wrong.  So she won't send me to a GI doctor.  I would ask my doctor to send me to a GI if I were you, just to be sure everything is okay.
Researching things on the internet is scary.  Everything always sounds like cancer, but put IBS symptoms in your search engine, and you will find all the symptoms you are describing.
I'm not saying you have IBS as I'm not a doctor, but I'm saying that, like you, I always assume the worst about myself and researching on the internet just seems to confirm the worst.  So sometimes we need to find other things that don't seem so ominous that sound the same.

Thing about IBS is if your pain is relieved with BMs, also from what I've heard, if it's cc, your stool should always look flat because there would be a growth causing that shape.  But I could be wrong.
Mucous is very common in IBS.
