Nasuea and Anxiety?? Please Help!!

by Ruki, Jan 01, 2002 12:00AM
I have been having some strange symtpoms.  Occassionally I feel just kind of weird and just not right and I feel nasueated.  It happens mainly in the afternoons and in the mornings Im fine always.  Today I felt nasueated around 4-5pm and it makes me want to go and open my bowels.  When I did so that made it better and I felt much better.  As soon as I wake up occassioanlly as well, I sometimes feel this wierd stomach pain and again nasuea that lasts maybe for about a minute or two and then disappears the moment I get up from bed!
My stools have been formed and brown and are pretty normal but I have had loose stools occasionally, although they have always been formed but felt a bit loose, so are these loose stools then???  What is the definition of loose stools and the difference between loose stools and diahorrea???
I think the symptoms might be related to anxiety as I have had anxiety symptoms like nasuea and so on..but should I go to a doctor???
I am 18 and have no family history of any gastro. or bowel diseases at all.

I was having lots of stress about a job a few years ago and had nausea in the morning before work.  I couldn't eat breakfast and wasn't hungry til lunch usually.  Do you experience more stress in the afternoon (are you anticipating something that causes your nausea?)?
Also--have you checked to see if you are pregnant?  You can still have what seems to be a period when you're pregnant.
Hope you can figure it out and get better!
Happy New Year!

Thanks for the reply
Well firstly I cant be pregnant cos Im male lol.
My symptoms are caused I think by anxiety and just general stress.  As I mentioned I had panic attacks which then caused the anxiety symptoms like the nasuea.  Today I felt a touch dizzy as well, again the same symtpoms I get from time to time.  I had bleeding from my bowels as I did mention some weeks ago now which were caused by piles (had a sigmoidoscopy).
And yeah my symptoms do sort alleviate and start around the afternoon and continue til evening and then by about 8-9pm subside quickly.  Why do you ask?  What happens to you?

Sounds like anxiety to me! I've suffered with anxiety for YEARS and would have certain times during the day where I would get sick to my stomach. My job was so stressful, it's no wonder I was anxiety-ridden. I now carry with me my little bottle of Clonazepam--a mild anti-anxiety drug which has curbed my anxiety and nausea. I only take those pills when I need to, which isn't all that often anymore since I quit that stressful job. Good luck! Q
