Nausea and Vomiting

by jlamm, Nov 20, 2008 11:24AM
For about 2.5 months now, off and on, I will experience nausea and vomiting throughout the day.  This whole ordeal began a couple of months ago.  I would wake up with nausea and would vomit within a few minutes of waking up.  After vomiting I would feel ok and go about my day.  This would be alrigh, except the nausea began to reappear throughout the day and in the evening, which began to and still does affect my ability to perform at my usual high level at work.  In addition to nausea and vomiting I also began to have a bit of diarrhea and could not keep any food down or would feel like eating very little.  The only thing that helped the nausea was smoking marijuana, but this did not completely eliminate the nausea and I cannot very well smoke marijuana during the day.  I have been pretty healthy throughout most of my life (26 y/o, male) except for battling obesity for most of my life.  I saw a gastro specialist who saw fit to talk to me for less than 5 minutes and decided to move forward with various upper g.i. tests.  I had an ultra sound, endoscapy and another test to check my gallbladder.  All of these tests showing nothing.  I went for another follow up appointment.  The doctor only spent a few minutes with me and stated that it was caused by marijuana.  I find this very hard to believe, especially since the doctor seemed to take no interest in my problems.  While all of the tests were being performed, etc my symptoms began to subside and completely went away without changing any of my dialy habits.  Unfortunately, this lasted only a couple of weeks and my symptoms are back in full force.  I changed gastro specialists and this doctor started with conducting some lower g.i. tests.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Both doctor have ruled out anxiety, etc, but I'm still not quite sure what to think.  Please help.
