I recently found out that I have Hep C. I was not aware that I even had this, but the new doctor that I just started seeing wanted to make sure everything was ok because I had been exposed to Hep A when I was 9 or 10 and I have recently lost over 80 pounds within less than 8 months, unintentionally. My old doctor did not seem concerned when I tried to address this, nor did she stay with me when I told her I was going to have a seizure (I had an aura, and knew it was coming),but left the room and did not come back. And you guessed it, I had a seizure. I decided it was time to get a new doctor. Anyway, I now need to have a liver biopsy, and was wondering how it is done? Are you sedated during the procedure? And does it require any recovery
time? I have not seen the gastroenterologist yet, but this is the next step, as we are waiting for the ultrasound to come back to determine exactly how advanced The Hep C is...I have tested positive for Cirrhosis. From what I understand the biopsy should tell more about that??? I am getting confused about all of this, because like I said, this is all new to me.
Thank you for being patient with me and for any information you can give. Right now I need all the help I can get...
