Need an opinion for 6 years of horrible pain

I have lived with constant, burning stomach pain and pain when I breathe for the last 6 years.  I had gotten H Pylori from an old boyfriend and I was finally diagnosed last year.  I went through several rounds of antibiotics and they said I no longer have it.  I still have the searing, burning horrible pain and hunger that will not go away.  I have taken doses of Prevacid, Nexium, Acifex, Zantac, you name it I tried it with no real relief.  I am now taking Tagamet and Prilosic but I still am in pain.   I had an endoscopy which only showed a small area of inflamation in the antrum.   I don't drink and no longer drink coffee.

Help!  What do they do for someone when the pain won't go away?   What do they do when the medicines don't work?  I really can't deal with the pain anymore and I don't want to take pain killers.  Please help!

Since being in the Hospital for 3 &1/2 months on IV antibiotics, (where I lost 50 lbs) I have this insatiable gnawing hunger feeling in my stomach. I have gained 60 lbs back in 8 months. Nothing seems to take the gnawing away. I have had a endoscopy and was found to have a ulcer, The Dr. put me on Prilsec and then added Carafate. NOTHING has worked. I am still hungery ALL the time. Had complete blood work done. No diabetes. I read 0n another website that one person tried Oil Of Oregano, and cured it. I am going to try this, or anthing else that someone can suggest.
I am waiting for the ulcer to heal so I can now have Lapband surgery for the weight.

I think you may still have H pylori.  It is very hard to get rid of.  There is a last-ditch effort solution, a regimen of a whole bunch of different long-term (months) antibiotics that will usually take care of it.  By the way, I do not believe you got it from your boyfriend, because H pylori is an infection that comes from consuming bad food or water, I believe.

In the meantime, eat some Activia yogurt from the grocery store, and take alka seltzer to calm your tummy.  Also, liquid Mylanta is good for the tummy, too.  Eat 100 percent whole wheat bread at lunch and dinner, and Cheerios with Acidophilus milk and juice in the morning.  None of that stuff will "cure" you, but might help normalize your digestive system before your new antibiotic situation gets going, and then afterwards, too.

Nobody ever said to you the possibility of this being Gastroesophageal reflux disease? It is very common, I have it and it can be treated with drugs or Surgery
Good luck!

I'm in the same boat you are but my doctor gave me carafate and it seems to be helping...you might ask you doctor for that.  Also....try looking into a diet change.  Do a search for gluten intollerance and see if your symptoms fall into that category.  Hope this helps and good luck.
