Need information

I have had recurring suspected acid reflux and ulcer symptoms over the course of a year. I am having another episode and am extremely nauseous, have slowed bowel movements, acid reflux and pain above the belly button. My doctor suspects an ulcer flaring up and has given me nexium to treat. I will see her in a week. Nexium is not having much effect. What is a differential diagnosis and what test can I have to deny or confirm ulcers? Is it possible to have multiple ulcers? I also suffer from tremors and am not on any medication except for nexium. By the way- I am a 32 year old female, I am 5/7 and weigh 110 lbs. I have lost 8 lbs in the past 2 months.Though I have always been thin, the weight loss is a concern of mine.

Please insist that you be tested for Celiac disease.  Weight loss and acid reflux are red flags for Celiac disease, as are the slow bowel movements.  Celiac disease is where you are allergic to gluten, which is a protein in certain grains like wheat.  It damages your small intestine and causes malnutrition and a wide range of symptoms.  One friend had ONLY heartburn as a symptom, and she had an advanced case.  Even the tremors could be caused by it, probably because of some deficiency like vitamin B or magnesium or something.

Thanks for the input. I don't know anything about Celiac, so this is helpful. My dr did test me for celiac and I will be getting those results on tuesday. I will keep you posted. She did test me for thyroid dysfunction also, not sure how gastro issues come into play there, but that would explain tremors and weight loss. Thanks again- A
