Never the same after Gallbladder surgery

I am just wondering is it pretty normal to have pains like a gallbladder attack is coming on, eventhough i no longer have my gallbladder? My mom had hers out about 5-6 yrs ago and she still has actial attacks. I had mine out in Jan 07 and i never had attacks but occasionally i will get that tightening pressure like an attack will start. It usually happens when i dont eat for a while. Well yesterday i took nexium and nothing would get rid of it..and now today my back and chest kind of ache. Am i just going to have to deal with this the rest of my life?! Im only 20 and im already hating that i have to deal with this.

Reduce the fat in your diet. I had the same pain in the center of my chest on occasion. Just like a heart attack, radiated to my jaw. Dr. said I had gerd. I was skeptical at his Dx. at first. I have had heartburn and reflux for a long time, but never the pain in the chest before.
I have liver disease and have been worse after the gall bladder removal. I have those metalic clips also.

Thank you. My recovery was good too..up until about 5-6 mos after i would start getting an occasional pain. I think most ppl do..maybe youll be one of the lucky few who dont. My grandma never had probs after hers came out.

Ok thank you all...it just like whats the point!? we get them out and we are still having pain, its horrible. And to Ok2531 the pain is like right in the middle and sometimes goes to my back and sides just like when i had gallbladder attacks. The pain isnt anywhere as bad but its bad enough i cant do anything and its annoying.

Folks who get their gallbladder out have residual problems.  I had a relative who had his out.  Do a Google search and you will read that, following surgery because of gallstones, people have a number of specifc ongoing stuff they have to deal with.  I'd search for you, but I'm getting tired.

i have been going through this forum and to be honest with you i'm regretfully not surprised.they left medical clips inside of you and if you are not careful they will get away with putting a stent inside of you during an ercp.my surgery was in 2000.no success, more pain.ercp in 2003 to correct the problem more severe pain because the doctor put a stent in me.he denied it till this day.i found out because my father took me to colombia to get to the bottom of this.the doctor told me that in2003 a doctor put a stent in and in 2007 a doctor tried to take it out.all the doctors will deny what these clips and stents are doing but research for yourself.google search (clips migrating into bile duct)and(stent occluding in bile duct.)good luck but be smart.they think they are above us.that is why we ars their guinea pigs!

Which side is your pain on?  I think I'm battling mild pancreatitis.  Had my gallbladder out 2 years ago.
