Night Time Vomiting Episodes

Hi, My 5yr old daughter Sophie has had night time vomiting episodes since she was 2yrs old. Basically they usually start from about 12.00midnight and we then go through for approx 6 hours of vomiting every 15minutes. This is usually in conjunction with a wobbly head/dizziness (no pain though) and more recently coupled with severe stomach pain which is really now why I want to get to the bottom of this as she is experiencing quite a deal of pain now with these episodes and is very distressed and upset from the pain. The vomiting and going to the toilet relieves the stomach pain a little but unfortunately not totally. These 'episodes' happen approx every 2months or so and sometimes 2 nights in a row. There is never any warning that they are about to occur. The incredible thing though is that she is perfectly fine the next day albeit tired from the previous night. We have had many tests and seen many different specialists (Paediatrician/ENT/Neurologist/Allergist) and all tests have proved negative and her condition has the specialists' stumped. Besides these 'episodes' she is a normal healthy happy thriving 5yr old. I am running out of options but am just about to book an appointment with a Paediatric Gastroenterologist. I was wondering if you've had any similar conditions reported from any of your members and if you can give any advice or answers as to what may be causing this awful and frustrating situation. It really breaks my heart when she is going through her 'episodes' and I feel so helpless. Any help would be soooooo much appreciated. Cheers and many thanks Jules (from Australia)!

My 7 year old son has been having the same exact thing for YEARS.  We had another episode last night but haven't had one since October.  I put him on lactose free milk after his Oct. attack but after last night, I'm not convinced that solved the problem.  Like you, he wakes up FINE the next day....have you had any doctors give you any guidance since your july posting?

Hi, a pediatric gastroenterologist should have been one of the first doctors for her to have seen.  I would be angry that your pediatrician has not recommended this earlier!  It concerns me that she has had this for so long, I can understand your concerns.  Please get her to a pediatric GI doctor right away.  Blessings, and please keep us posted.
