Nissen Fundo

I'm considering a Nissen Fundo with a hiatus hernia repair by keyhole surgery in a week's time and would like any information anyone can provide as to whether this is a worthwhile operation.  I've read lots of negative and now wondering what to do!

I'm not sure if you're having the complete wrap (Nissen Fundoplication), but I had this done in 2004 and today I am experiencing severe GI disorders that is extremely difficult to treat.  I believe there was damage or aggravation done to my vascral nerve which effects my colon motility.  I developed bacterial overgrowth that was off the charts.  Chronic diarrhea along with nausea, constipation, constant stomach pain is something I deal with every day.  I had the nissen to correct GERD, which it did, however if I knew then that I'd be going through all this today, I would have NEVER had the surgery.  I would have dealt with the reflux a little more aggressively.  At least I could function when I had reflux.  I find it difficult to do so now.  Please look at all of your options and explore all the potential side effects that may occur years down the road following the fundo.
