Nissen Fundoplication

by MJaneM, Sep 06, 2008 06:24PM
I was taking Omeprazole twic per day for reflux.  I had the laporoscopic fundoplication operation and find it to be fantastic.  I haven't had a single episode of heartburn - and have been medication free since the op in August 2007.  I can't recommend it enough.  The surgeon was higly skilled.  I have had no symptoms at all and can burp if necessary!  It seems to depend highly on the skill of your surgeon, so check this out prior to surgery.  I can now drink alcohol, eat pork pies, and have a wonderful night's sleep.  Perhaps we tend to leave our views more often when they are negative?  Some of us have this op and never look back.  I reommend it wholeheartedly.
