some float and are greasy looks like obvious malabsorption. I have had a semi itchy back with some pimples, slightly dry red eyes, and some hyperpigmentation
. I have had a crap load of test done and nothing so far.
I have had full liver panels done 3 times. All normal as can be.
CT scan and ultrasound. Normal.
HIDA scan with CCK. Normal!
Colonoscopy. Normal.
Endoscopy. diagnose with reflux.
I have been tested for celiac, parasites, bacteria, have had prothombrine and a lot of other test I cant even remember!
Couple weeks ago I felt like total crap couldn't eat anything and lost about 10 pounds. Now I can eat again and have been eating a lot and cant put the weight back on. I'm really worried and don't want some BS IBS diagnoses. I'm 19 years old and scared as S***.
I know what's wrong with you. Your bile ducts are blocked. There are three, one from the gallbladder, one from the liver, and then the pancreatic duct, they all meet together and then empty into the duodenum part of the bowel. The symptoms are your yellow and smelly stool, plus weight loss, plus pain in sort of the right front that goes around to your back. The way to see the bile ducts and what's going on in there is a cholangiogram, which is done with an MRI. Probably you have a gallstone that's stuck in there and it's making you really sick. Also, sometimes alcohol can do this, so if you drink at all, cut back.
I don't know what to say about your gastro doc being out of his office until the 30th (I assume you mean June). I would suggest if anyone is in his office, I think you said something about a nurse practitioner, go and explain what I have said, and perhaps they can order the type of scan I am describing, or they can refer you to an "on-call" gastro doc who might be taking your GI's cases while he's gone. If all else fails, you can go as a walk-in to the county health department and be seen by a physician the same day, tell him what I've said, and maybe he can order the scan.
In the meantime, they ought to give you pain killers, that does help with discomfort but of course won't make it well, and they can also perhaps tell you other stuff to do while you wait for them to schedule the cholangiogram. And I don't care what the other tests showed or didn't show, I'm telling you that your bile ducts are blocked up for some reason, they need to look at it with the MRI test, and they may even need to do surgery to unblock your ducts. And there is no need to be afraid now, the docs can fix this, and you'll feel SO much better. Keep us posted as to how this thing unfolds.
Good news(Although frustrating) is that you have had a plethora of tests and they have ruled out most major issues. Did you have an H.Pylori test done? Seems fitting with some of your symptoms.
I forgot I have had H pylori blood test and biopsies from the endoscopy that ruled out h pylori and celiac. I'm still worried as all heck about my liver seems like all the symptoms fit... the doctor told me that my liver looks fine but then again what n the heck is causing this stuff. I had a fecal fat test just the one day and it showed nothing but from my understanding the 72 hour one is the gold standard...
Your symptoms are spot on for Gall Bladder issues, but you have had enough tests to rule out anything major there. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion, so they typically say that when they have done every test and still have found no issues. Im pretty shocked its not a gall bladder issue.
I personally do not believe its your liver. How was your Hepatic Panel numbers? Everything good on that when you had a blood test?
Pancreatitis can cause greasy stools, but again, that wouldve been found on tests. You are definately in a tough case here.
I don't have all the test results but I have went over them with my doctor and EVERYTHING was normal. Said on the CT my liver and all other organs looked 100 percent same with ultrasound and hida scan. I also had a pancreatic enzyme test done as well and it was normal. All my blood test like prothombrine and whatever other ones were normal. The GI said it still could be gallbladder but I don't want to have it removed and it not fix anything. Only thing was my WBC was VERY slightly low the doctor said not enough to be of worry. The doctor says he does not believe it's my liver but the thing I'm worried about is they are finding nothing else and this still continues thats what leads me to be scared...
Test for iron in the blood and copper are all normal as well. Also wondering how effective the hepititis (hepatitis) A vaccine is if only have received the first shot. They are doing a ANA blood test as well. I'm just really concerned about whats going on and my GI will be on vaccation till the 30th. I don't know how comfortable I am just seeing a NP. Any help is appreciated...
So I had several test for iron in blood and ANA blood test and all were negative. I'm not in a lot of pain just a lot of discomfort. Doesn't really hurt but I feel like something is stuffed under my right ribs putting pressure on it seems to relieve it a bit. Obvious malabsorption and extremley foul smelling flatuelent stool that are mostly yellow and very light brown and very gritty and soft. Hyperpigmentation on my right hand looks like a bunch of small light brown spots. I still have a appetite but I'm eating a substantial ammount of food and still shedding pounds very slowly. I'm really worried... I'm only 19 and I'm super worried about liver problems.
I have had numerous blood work test
ultrasound
CT
HIDA scan
colonoscopy and endoscopy and so far nothing. All normal.
I'm wondering if there is possibly a stone in the bile duct or something. Because for acouple days I was really sick feeling couldn't eat nausea, chills, horrible sleep. Feel free to help...

I will definitely talk to the NP about this scan. I have not drank in over two months but I would drink occassionally on the weekends. I have been doing nothing but eating healthy and it seems to be worsening. I'm definitely affraid of more serious diseases. This ***** because I am only a couple days away from my EMT-B class starting. Thanks for your reply ggreg I will keep posted.
Just talked to the NP and she basically blew me off. I need to get authorization to get a second GI opinion and I have a appointment on the 30th for when my GI gets back but I put in for the authorization to see another GI for another opinion thing is this stuff doesn't move fast with my insurance... This is just ridiculous...
