No more gall bladder doesnt mean no more pain!

No more gall bladder doesnt mean no more pain!

about 9 months ago i was told i had gall bladder stones, i was then put on a waiting list to get it removed. ONE MONTH!!! to the day after my surgery i had an attack where oonce again i was doubled over couldnt breath nor move and it was just Un berable. i phone my surgeon and tell her and she simply replies well it is normal that you still have pain. what was the point of removing my body parts if it isnt going to stop the pain. so after all this surgery **** i still get pain at least 2,3 times a month i dont want to live off pain killers all my life im only 21 i would like to live a healthy life. Any one help ?

Did the doc tell you that you should probably be following a low fat diet after the surgery? You may want to consider doing so since there are numbers of individuals who have problems processing fats after the surgery and it can take quite awhile for their systems to adjust. That would be a place to start.

In addition, you need to ask your doc to run some tests within 24 hours of the pain. You need to have both your liver and pancreatic enzyme levels checked to see if anything is going on with your biliary system. Also discuss the possibility of doing an MRCP. Stones/sludge can get 'lost' into the common bile duct during surgery. If any are present you may need to have them removed.
