No ulceration witnessed, but bleeding persists?

Hi,
I'm a 26-year old male.

A couple of weeks ago I took a bit too much of a NSAID,
I think this is what has set off my stomach troubles.

I have a slight burning in the stomach/esophagus,
a lot of belching/farts/bloating...
and minimal blood loss in saliva. All of these symptoms are almost undisrupted.

I suspect the blood loss comes from the stomach/esophagus.
My blood test shows slightly elevated red blood cells, but nothing that concerned my doc.

So i had an endoscopy done at the hospital. The gastro-enterologist didnt see any ulceration or wounds.
He told me i could stop using the Omeprazol that was described by my doctor.

They did a biopsy of some gastric tissue, and they did not find any helicobacter.
The gastro-enterologist told me to stop taking the omeprazol that was prescribed by my general doctor.

I did all that. Digestion has since improved, because omeprazol slows it down.
But all other symptoms persist.

The bloating I can ignore, but the blood and burning tells me I shouldn't ignore this.
How is it possible that the gastro-enterologist did not find the cause of the burning/bleeding?

Should I re-start taking omeprazol? (I only took it for a week)
Are there any other tests I should take, or questions I could ask my doctor?

Hi and thanks for the reply.
Is there a way to make sure the blood is from the stomache/esophagus and not from the mouth?

Because my teeth do bleed easily.

Bright red indicates that it is not "old blood", which I would think is good.  Do you have any sort of heartburn/acid reflux?  Have you been on any other meds...what about supplements or vitamins or alcohol?  Also...what is your weight and diet like?  Your esophagus may be inflamed and irritated causing bleeding....also did the doc say anything about RBC levels and what that could mean?  Has he taken any sort of guess at what is going on?  Have you heard him say anything about a condition called GERD?  I've had lots of issues, so I hope I can help.  I know that must be scary.

The blood is bright red by the way, and Always mixed with saliva.
So it's not like i'm bleeding to death. (I think ;) )
