Hello,
My father and myself have had the same problem for quite a while now; he has been experiencing symptoms for months and my symptoms seemed to have started around Thanksgiving but possibly started sooner and weren't that painful
Mine started with constipation but that my have been unrelated. Then, what happens to both of us, is that we eat something (anything from one cracker to an entire salad) and a few moments to half an hour later, our abdominal area starts to cramp, and following that we go to the restroom, where we have yellow
It feels as if I cannot push out the stool on my own, but my body has waves of pain as if it is pushing it out on it's own.
Both of us have been the the ER a few times. He gave a stool sample and it came back inconclusive. I have done numerous blood test and there is no evidence of anything. I have lost weight and cannot return to work from the pain, my friends all think I'm exaggerating and are tired of me being sick, and I've had to fall behind in college because of this, it is ruining my life.
I was given a heavy dose of antibiotics, which I took and felt better, but then a few days later I hurt again but with no diarrhea. Then constipation followed but I was able to pass stool. Then all of a sudden tonight I go to dinner and eat half a salad (nothing unusual for me, my main food group) and by the time we go to my friend's apartment two blocks away, I had to use the restroom and there it was, yellow
I should also mention that I have never had symptoms like this before and I do not believe it to be IBS considering it was so sudden. Also, my father has blood in his stool but I do not appear to, but I hear you cannot always see it with the naked-eye.
I can feel for you and your father. I've you gone to a gastro yet. I took me 2 two years to get a diag. I was so heal chonic diarra, joints pain, my hands
where locking. It seemed anything I eat it came out within a hour and my stomach was so bloated. I have celiac sprue. The gastro Doctor did a test called endoscopy it really wasn't bad at all. When I found out I had celiac, I also found out it is hereditary
to. My mother has real bad joint pain, constiption, minegrans, she got tested and also tested postive. I have to be on a gluten free diet which was hard at first but got easier and all problems gone and no medicine. Try seeing a gastro if you haven't. Hope you and your father get better.
