Folks,
Two general questions:
1) Has anyone tried the herbal extract, Iberogast, for treatment for Functional (Non-ulcer) dyspepsia? Any comments, pro or con, would be greatly appreciated?
2) Has anyone with dyspepsia ever experienced long term (greater than a couple of months) right upper quadrant (RUQ) pain (front and back) that was not related to any gallbladder problems? I'm trying to figure out if dyspepsia can cause RUQ pain.
Thanks!
Jim
No I haven't tried Iberogast. I take a small half glass of soda water or sparkling mineral water with just a dash (about a good teaspoon) of Swedish Bitters from the health shop and it usually helps my general gastric
discomfort straight away. A couple of times a day and before bed especially. I have suffered digestive problems for 30 years. I have had your pain on and off for years and years. I have had 3 gallbladder X rays and each time they said it was OK. I don't know what it is,the doctors don't know what it is, but I've got it and i'm still here. Try the Swedish Bitters (don't know where you live but I know its available in US as well as here in Aust.)

Thanks for the feedback. I might just try the bitters. A couple of follow up questions: 1) How long does the relief last for? 2) My main problem seems to be a general heaviness in the abdomen and occasional bloating. Do the bitters take care of this? Thanks again!
P.S. I'm going to also try the Iberogast. I figure I have nothing to lose!
The bitters seem to help for 3 or 4 hours - I often wake up during the night and take some and it does settle my 'stomach' and bloated feeling and also seems to help me get back to sleep. Must have a slight calming affect. Have tried just soda but it's not the same so it's definately the bitters.
