Non-alcholic beer and the liver

My husband, after being diagnosed with "features of cirrhosis" following a bout of NASH.  Needless to say, he stopped taking acetiminphen, etc. and stopped having his after work beer.  This was almost two year ago.  One of his friends suggested if he really wants to have beer with the guys, he should drink non alcoholic beer.  Is this okay for him?

Ask your doctor that question since alcohol-free beer is not completely alcohol-free. It contains small amounts of alcohol and if his liver has already progressed to the level of being fatty and fibrotic, it's not a good idea to stress it to any extent and even a small amount of alcohol might do just that.
