On buying meds from flea markets

by Sugoya, Nov 07, 2009 01:01PM
I found a place today (flea market type venue) that was selling Align, 28 count for $5. In stores each box costs about $25-$30. The expiration dates were in 2011 too. The boxes wereen't super shiny clean, and a little dented, but seeing as all the pills are individually packaged, the condition of the box doesn't really affect the pill. Also, I'm assming excessive cold or heat could probably damage the pills, but if I were to purchase a box, and I popped a pill out, as long it doesn't look strange, than it should still be good, right?

If it sounds too good to be true......it is.  You have to ask yourself why these people would sell a product so cheaply, when they could make more money selling at a higher price.  Never trust medications from a flea market, you're dealing with your health here, and something just isn't right.

The thing is that they are selling it so cheaply because the outside box isn't in Walgreens or Target-quality shape, but the contents still are. The vendors don't know aht they are selling. It's not like they are just selling Align, they are selling a whole bundle of jumbled products. I could understand if the pills turned to dust as soon as I opened the package, or if I openeded it and noticed signs that the pills were salvaged from a flood, but if the insides are all good, then there should be no difference in the product.

Thank You for your warning though. I appreciate it.
