Ongoing bowel problem

I am a 45 yr old female with a history of gastro problems,

1996 severe stomach pains, bleeding opening bowels, scope and several ' Adenomatous polyps with moderate epithelial dysplasia' were removed,no follow up. later followed by heamorroidectomy(sp),

Same year Hysterectomy (Adenomyosis)

Several episodes of severe stomach pain,(resulting in hospital stays,) mainly left sided,.
2004 Endo scope  ' Hiatus hernia, esophagitis, ulcers and Barrets esophagus, = antibiotics omeprazole.

2006 Colonoscopy normal, ct normal, barium normal

2007  admitted hosp emergency, Ct scan colonoscopy 3 weeks later
Anus normal
Rectum  normal
Sigmoid  ill defined abnormality
Descending colon ill defined abnormality
Splenic Flexture  Procedure limited by patient discomfort
Procedure stopped

Comments= Impossible to round splenic flexcture, every manipulation reacted to. The problem on CT appears to be in left colon which was visualised. There was low grade oedema and vascular injection in descending colon and sigmoid colon - photo an biopsy.
To arrange further scope

At follow up different Dr ' no follow up needed!

exercise as increases the pain, frequently bloody stools, constipated 7/8 days

Three weeks ago similar pain waking me at night,  stomach on a spin cycle!  not eating took paracetamols for about a week, go Gp, back hosp she thought gynea? but OVERDOSED paracetamol gave Parvalex, had anyphaletic shock, everything concentrated on this, put on Tramadol 100mg, ovarian scan normal sent home- still eating very little.

Three days later pain no better and now vomiting, sent to different hosp, admitted, Ct scan of abdomen = constipation! suprise! not eaten 10days,full of opiates! sent home with laxatives!! booked fcolonscopy in three weeks.
two weeks on appetite has returned but pain remains, no poop  7days stomach blew up.
Lived all over country so medical history is all over and never seems to follow me! I am so fed up with this, please has anyone any ideas what this is? I am scared sick of all tests and worried they maybe missing something serious that will show itself later on, please help.

Thanks Morecambe you did reply.

Well i had my colonoscopy (which was virtually painfree!! they used a pediiactric scope an were very gentle) but they only found polyps which were removed but am still having lots of pain! i think i have narrowed it down as food related, Sunday lunch sets it off, as do takeaways, or anything with spices. I can now feel it start almost immediately after the meal! and know i'm going to have a bad night.

I take paracetamol and diclofenic when going to bed but after about 3 or fours of restless sleep I am fully awake an in lots of pain, i have also started to have diarreaha(sp) the following day, which i never get, it eventually settles but the pain remains, my gp is now thinking its a gallbladder prob, but on thect scan everything was commented on even to say nad but not the liver, pancreas and gallbladder, so gp thinks they have not been looked at.

Can anyone tell me can they go back an look at your ct scan like they can an xray? or do they need to do it again.

Incidently my younger brother has bad bouts of pancreatitis an has been in hosp twice, can it be hereditry?

I did used to drink quiet a lot as my ex used to have pubs but I drink very little now.

thanks to all who replied on other forums but now drs think its def a gastro prob just got to discover what.

I just noticed this posting - but I think I replied to this question which also appeared on the colon cancer forum.
