PAIN AFTER GALL BLADDER REMOVAL

PAIN AFTER GALL BLADDER REMOVAL

Hi. I am a 19 year old female and I just recently had my gall bladder removed in November. I first started getting pain on my right side under my rib cage along with a dull ache in my back ..I finally went to the hospital where they took blood and did a ultrasound and they said they found a small gall stone in my gall bladder. I contacted a doctor and he said to go along with surgery so we set a date. I went in for the surgery and everything went well ..i was eating and up right after the surgery and I came home the same night. Before I left the hospital I was told I could eat regulary and was told to rest until I felt I was able to get back to my regular routine. I was up and walking after I got home and everything went well.

Now two nights ago out of nowhere I got pain again JUST LIKE BEFORE I HAD MY GALL BLADDER TAKEN OUT ..same back pain and all ..didnt last to long ..it never did but if you know what im talking about the pain is very annoying! So anyway I thought maybe its because of what I had eaten that day ..keep in mind i was told to eat whatever i felt like. Now I went for a follow up today and all the doctor did was check how I was healing ..and im healing fine. But when I told him about the pain he said that it was "weird" and told me it shouldnt be from what im eating. Im not too sure what to do.

I just had the same pain again before and im out of ideas ..im VERY upset that im still in pain ..I thought it would go away after I had the gall bladder removed but im still experiencing pain ..first of all im TOO YOUNG to even of had that problem but now I feel like I went along with the surgery for no reason.

I understand I should watch what I eat anyway but am I getting the pain still because of what im eating? Is the fatty food too much to digest and thats why im still getting pain?

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! IDEAS ..ANSWERS ..ANYTHING PLEASE

You're not going to be able to process fats the way you did before the surgery and it could take some time to adjust, so you may want to consider following a low fat diet for a number of months. For many, fatty food is a no-no.

I had mine taken out 10/30/08, and also am still having pain, but I was told by my surgeon that this is normal, and not to worry about my diet. I agree with didi4056. eating small meals definately helps, and also staying away from the fatty foods. Yes, it is annoying, but it is better than being in pain. Good luck, I hope you start feeling better soon!
