My 19 yr. old daughter has had persistent right quadrant pain for 6 months. She had a battery of tests and the results are "UNremarkable." Today the dr. ordered another test and is now suggesting that it's in her head
I lost my son to the same type of "quack doctor." Your daughter's doctor's ego is too big to ask for help with this, and would rather "manage her pain" than find the problem! Call the AMA and find the top GI doctor in your area. I did this, and he was calling my son's doctors with advice and they refused his calls, and never returned his messages. I was young and naive, and trusted that these 2 doctors were doing everything.....they weren't and my son is gone as a result. I learned the above info too late. A very well known surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic once told me about how some doctors are with their egos, how they won't seek advice if they don't know the answer, or just that they don't want to lose you as a patient.
YOU know this isn't right, keep looking until you find a doctor that graduated at the top of his class instead of the bottom! Take care......
