by TAQuest, Jan 30, 2009 05:23PM
Please help me in discovering what could possibly be wrong with me! I have the following symtoms:

Currently passing stool (very little 2-3 small pieces) 2-3 times a week
Stools can be watery and normal in color, but still have extreme feeling of fullness

First began around the middle of November
Stools became hard and hard to pass
Noticed bumbs around anus recently
Once, when stools were passed, streaked with blood

Taking Mirilax (which does nothing)
Preperation H
Benefiber Fiber twice a day
8 glasses of water at least
Diet contains veggies, fruit and protein (chicken)
Currently taking Bactrium

Thanks for your help!

If you're taking any medications prescribed for other health issues, especially anything you started around November, sometimes they can cause constipation, so check side effects on those.  Also, too much juice can dry you out, if you have recently started guzzling that sort of stuff.  And, sometimes taking certain brands of vitamins can stop you up, so switch kinds, maybe.  When you get constipated, often you'll get hemorhoids, which can bleed, so that's what's going on there.  As you know, if you take laxatives too long, they can have a reverse effect, so you might want to cut back somehow.  Add to your food, a meal once a week of spagetti and salad.  You can also add prunes and blueberries to Cheerios cereal daily.  And you need to eat plenty of food, to where you are completely full at least once a day... in other words, don't diet too much, if you are.  Finally, I think if none of the above works, you might want to consult with a gastroenterologist physician, to make sure you don't have some sort of gastric disorder going on.
