PLEASE HELP

I have been having a problem for a year now after drinking alcohol. The next day after drinking a moderate amount of alcohol I get an extreme pain in my abdomin (abdomen). It gets worse after eating and progresses throughout the day. It goes away after about 24 hours. I had an endoscopy done and the doctor would not tell me anything other than to quit drinking. I would love to know what causes this. I'm a young adult and still very social. I would hate to cut out drinking all together. I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and were they able correct the problem with medicine or treatment. Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are having an "adverse reaction" to alcohol.  It is somewhat like an allergic reaction.  You are just one of many that cannot tolerate drinking.  If you continue to drink, even occassionally, the body symptoms will get worse over time.  You may also be more sensitive to liver problems because of alcohol intolerance.  It won't matter what kind of alcohol you drink--beer, wine, or hard liquor--the symptoms will return.  If you continue to drink you will end up paying a high price with your health. Not drinking doesn't mean you have to give up the parties.  Switch to non-alcoholic drinks instead.  You won't get a "buzz" or drunk, but you can party and still "drink and drive".  good luck
