Pain behind tail bone

by Lyn__0__0, Jan 14, 1999 12:00AM

For about 2 months now I have wondered if it is possible to get hemorhoids deep behind the tailbone.  It seems like a trivial and embarrassing thing to see a new Dr. for but it is a pain that has been not getting any better. There is no bleeding-its just like a deep bruised feeling, BMs are normal. Should I wait it out longer? It almost can also feel arthritic when I stand from a sitting position.  If I got injured inside would a small tear heal in a couple of months?
  Thanks.

Dear Lyn,
You do not provide your age, information which might influence the answer.  Hemarrhoids would not cause chronic problems as you describe.  Given your persistence of symptoms and a perceived degree of anxiety, I think that it would be appropriate to see your doctor.
