Pain in abdominal section

I have gone through several different tests for crohns, celiac, parasites, ect all resulting as negative. For a few years now I have gotten terrible stomach aches with mucusy, foul smelling stools. I'm doubled over in pain in the bathroom, being that the only way the pain stops is if I relieve myself of all of it. I can feel it coming about a half hour before i need to rush to the bathroom, and there is a slight lump a little below my rib cage. As the lump moves down it gets worse and worse until its finally at the lowest part of my abdomin and I need to run to the bathroom. I  have noticed that the cramps and diarrhea can be made worse if I eat more than a certain amount, making me scared to eat and go out in public. If anyone has any of the same symptoms or has any idea what it may be, please respond, I would really appreciate any feedback.

With IBS, you can try eliminating different foods from your diet (especially ones known to be trigger foods for IBS) to see if that helps.

When I went to my GI  she diagnosed me as IBS and told me the Gluten free diet probably wouldn't help my symptoms. I am using natural remedities to help the symptoms, do you know of any good ones

That really depends.  Even if your testing was negative, I would still recommend trying a gluten free diet unless another cause for your symptoms was found.

I will definitely try different diets and should I be going through different testings now that I have ruled out and narrowed down possible causes?

There are a lot of false negatives for celiac disease.  Also you can have a gluten intolerance without having celiac disease.  You don't need to lose weight to have celiac disease.  The symptoms of celiac disease vary greatly from person to person.  One thing to make sure of though is that if you do go on a gluten free diet, make sure not to get any testing done for celiac disease (like a biopsy during an endoscopy) while on the GF diet, as this can give you a false negative.

Thank you. I've been told there is a lot of false negatives for celiac disease, however my doc. doesn't believe that's wrong because I haven't been loosing weight, but it's still very hard to
Gain. I will talk to her about the gluten free diet and SCD diet and go from there.

The blood tests aren't really accurate (depending on which type of blood test you get) and your symptoms do sound similar to celiac disease.  I think it would still be reasonable to try a gluten free diet for 2 months to see if that helped.

I was tested for celiac in a blood test. Do my symptoms sound familiar?

Were you tested for celiac disease in a blood test or a biopsy during an endoscopy?

Thanks for all your help. I have tried going on a no dairy diet for about 2 weeks but my symptoms still occurred. I'm going back to the gastroenterologist in a few weeks and I will definitely mention and try the SCD diet. Thanks again for the help

You said you had parasites tests done. Did this include the scotch tape test?
If not, get it done, it is often forgotten.

Have you ever considered on going onto a really dramatically different diet? Its a long shot, but give the SCD diet a try. What do you have to loose? It was developed against crohns, but it helps in nearly all cases of gut problem, just not completely when it comes to parasites. A good place to start is googling scd lifestyle, listen to some of their podcasts, download the free starter diet, and do it. It helped reduce my symptoms by 50%.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  What specific tests have you had?  Have you tried eliminating anything from your diet (like lactose)?
