Pain in gallbladder surgical area for 6 years

Is it typical for the surgical clips to be present within the liver hilum 6 years after gallbladder surgery? I have had pain in the area for the past 6 years and finally had an Ultrasound and subsequent CT Scan of area and they found clips in the liver hilum...Is that where they should be and could this be what has been causing me so much discomfort for the past 6 years? I am a super healthy 51 yr old woman with no health issues and a high tolerance to pain.  I have tenderness in area all of this time and pain on the pain scale (1-10) of about a 3 all of the time.....So annoying! My GP is referring me to a surgeon to discuss but wanted to be informed before I meet with them....
