Pain in lower left abdomin(abdomen)

Help!  Abdominal Pain!

I am 28y/o female. I have had acute lower left abdominal pain since Fri afternoon.  It came on quite suddenly.  If I had to describe it, I would say that it feels exactly the way it felt when I had my appendix removed.  Tried aspirin, Tylenol, naproxium sodium etc with not much luck, takes the edge off a bit but pain is still there and still tender.

Worse if I move or stand up straight, and is mostly a dull ache if at rest.  Very tender to the touch whether active or at rest.  I do not believe it to be gas/BM as I have been regular.  No fever that I know of but I don't have a themometer.  Just a little bit of light headedness but nothing too bad.

My question is any ideas what it might be???  It feels so much like when I had my appendix out!  My PCP can't see me til Tuesday at the earliest.... Should I go to the ER?  I didn't go because I kept thinking it would resolve itself, but it is now Sunday with no relief!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Any changes yet this morning?  Think long and hard before going to the ER.  They take a dim view of "abdominal pain" presentations and tend to just treat you like a drug-seeker and give you the boot.  I'm wondering if you may have bowel adhesions (scar tissue) as a result of your appendix surgery.  Unfortunately, adhesions generally don't show up on any tests, so the docs have to go by symptoms alone.  Might be worth asking about when you get in to see your doc.

Hi all!

Thank you for the help... I did end up going to ER as I could not take the pain any longer...  Found out I have a large hemorrhagic ovarian cyst and quite a large fibroid and polyps.  Having a follow up with ob/gyn to discuss options as my mother had to have a hysterectomy at 32 due to fibroids and the fact that the cyst is hemorrhaging.  The have me on pain meds as it hurts to move.

Thankfully the hospital near my house did take my abdominal pain seriously!

Thank you all!!

Congrats on getting such a quick diagnosis.  That is great news!  I've had more than a few ovarian cysts in my life, and boy do they ever hurt when they rupture. Zowie!
