Pain in upper abdomen by sternum

Hello I am new to the group and am looking for any possible solutions or possible ways to let my dr know what tests to preform to help me here is my issues... I am having occasional burning,pressure type pain right in the upper portion of my abdomen I guess it seems to be coming from the area I think it is called the sternum ? it happens alot when I go to bed and lay down it still hurts when I stand up but not as bad nothing seems to make it better tums, acid reducers ect ..I had a ultrasound done and when the tech pushed on the spot I said ouch see that is where it hurts and she said that is your pancreas but the ultrasound was ok only showwing a fatty liver I am scheduled to go to a GI doc and I dont want them to pass this off as gerd or heartburn I know it isnt that but what else could it be ? any suggestions would be appriciated thanks in advance..
