Pain in upper right side

I had my gallbladder removed and I am still having pain where it was.  They found a pear shaped image in my liver during and ultersound they did. They have me scheduled for an MRI to look into the problem.  The pain by where my gallbladder was and indigestion plus gas pains make it very hard to sleep but my doctor does not want me to take tylenol what can I take to get a good night sleep.

Benadryl is the medication in Tylenol PM that makes you sleepy.  You could try that, or even a half a pill and see if you can get some sleep.  Also, melatonin is an over-the-counter sleep aid that really does work.  For pain, maybe a couple Advil (ibuprofen).  It's metabolized in the liver as well, but not as hard on it as Tylenol.
