My husband has been suffering with pain in the upper left quadrant off and on for several months. He had a hida scan which said "The patient experienced mild cramping after CCK administration. There is very little emptying of the gallbladder with radiotracer actiivity being essentially unchanged 30 minutes post CCK Admin" and "Ejection fraction at 10 minutes is 7%" He also had an gastroscopy and that showed possible Barret's Esophogus. We are awaiting the pathology report. The gastro doctor told us the pain Rich was experiencing was not likely caused by his gallbladder problem nor would it be from the Barret's. Our internist is recommending gall bladder removal. We are concerned this may not be necessary. He has had a chest scan and that was negative.
