Pain when swallowing, please help.

Hi there

I`m a 22 year old male, and I`m having this rather worrying symptom everytime I swallow food. Its located on the left side of my chest, maybe about an inch to the right of my nipple. It seems to get worse depending on how much I swallow. My main worry is oesophgus cancer but at 22 I know thats unlikely, but a friend told me that your oesophagus is central and doesnt run under the left side of the chest? Could it be a muscular thing? I do drink a lot which in turn makes me want to make myself sick the next day, I do this on a weekly basis. Could the Vomiting be the reason?
