The backup of bile into the stomach is known as bile acid reflux. Some studies suggest it may occur with a higher frequency after a cholecystectomy.
The definitive treatment for something like this would be surgery. Carafate and cholestyramine are reasonable treatment options. Other considerations would be prostaglandin E2 as well as Ursodiol.
These options can be discussed with your gastroenterologist or in conjunction with a surgical referral.
