"It was like a really severe stomach cramp"
Thats what it was meant to say.
I dont know if this helps but, when i had a sigmoidoscopy, i was in unbearable pain when the air was pumped in to me, it was like a really severe stomach ****, i was trying to pass wind but found it difficult and the pain got to a point where i passed out.
ps I am 67 and have had upper epigastric pain on and off for 30 years. ( 30 years ago they found I'd got an ulcer scar). Whether it's my stomach or my intestines I honestly don't know but I've recently started to have spells of acute nausea with no other symptoms, just out of the blue, so may have to have another endoscopy. That's why I posted the 1st thread. I am absolutely DREADING it. I tried to signal that I couldn't take the pain anymore but they thought I was trying to pull something out - which I wasnt - and held my hand down. I've had 6 children so I know what pain is like but this pain was so bad. I took it and took it and in the end I sort of gave up as the gut ache was sooooo bad and I knew I was going to vomit. They saw this reaction on the screen, said to someone to pour some water down, and carried on. They found nothing - zilch. I couldn't believe it. All that pain for nothing. All I had was some diazepam defore the procedure but it didn't work. Do you think the pain could have come from my intestines?? Sorry this is so long. I'm just so scared as no-ne else seems to know what I'm talking about.
No during the procedure - as soon as air was put in. It was the worst pain. It was definately to do with the air. The pain was the same pain I had been in - why I had to have the endoscopy. It was 12 years ago and it still haunts me.
thats terrible! Do you mean during the procedure? Or, afterwards? If afterwards, how much time after the endoscopy are you talking? I just had an endoscopy, and I was completly put out for it...I swallowed the spray they put on the back of my throat..and then out I went...didnt wake up till I was back in recovery. That was 3 days ago. I have a bit of a sore throat, but definatly nothing "painful". I think you should call your physician.
