Pancreas duct dilation and elevated enzymes?

Hello, I have been getting really bad pain in my lest side under the ribs that radiate to the back. I went to the ER yesterday and got a ct scan and blood work. the scan came back saying the CDB is sightly dilated measuring .8cm in diameter and the pancreatic duct is dilated measuring .4cm. My enzymes came back high, ggt plasma 106, alp 143 and alt 43. I don't drink alcohol. Should I be concerned?" What does all of this mean? The Dr. told my to give these results to my primary Dr. They were only concerned that I may have been having post op complication because I just had a hysterectomy one week ago.

It may mean nothing, there needs to additional tests again in a few months, to see if the elevations are still there. Then the investigation may start.

These elevations indicate a biliary system issue, but that can be many things. My ALP is always elevated, many years though. The fact that your ALT is not elevated, or only mildly so, means that your bile flow isn't impeded much, a good thing. As the bile flow out of your liver gets blocked, the bile backs up and destroys portions of your liver, causing your ALT and AST levels to become very elevated.

Do see your doctor though to discuss things.
