Parasite in the brain

Is it possible to have A parasite in your brain, but nowhere else in your body? How long would a parasite live inside a persons brain? How long after infection would it take for a the parasite to go from the intestine to the brain?

I would not recommend you try diatomaceous earth.  From my research, it is a type of rock that is used in as a filtration aid, a mild abrasive, a mechanical insecticide, an absorbent for liquids, in cat litter, as an activator in blood clotting studies, as a stabilizing component of dynamite, and as a thermal insulator.  That doesn't sound like something you would want to ingest.

It seems like you will never know if you had parasites.  Personally, I don't believe that the dietary changes got rid of parasites, but I don't think we will ever agree on this.

My stool test came back negative. This is not surprising, since, when i first felt i had parasites, i changed my diet drastically to get rid of them. I asked my doctor to give me a PCR blood test, but im practically arguing with him about it. So ridiculous.

That is the only way to know for sure whether or not you have parasites.

Did you go to a doctor and get stool testing for parasites?

Dude, i was honestly moderately skeptical about the cleanse, but i do know how certain herbs can have an effect on our bodies. But ive got to say, its working. Much to my disgust, but its working.

I know its rare, parasites travelling to the brain, but its not impossible. What more likely is happening, is my parasites are in my gut "remotely" effecting my brain, via my nervous system. Id like to think that i dont have anything in my head, but my eyes keep going blurry, and ive got this pressure in my forehead and at the base of my skull, and im reading these horror stories on the web, and i say to myself "im having those same symptoms".. What causes me to worry even more, is that i in fact Do have parasitic infection in my GI system.

This is going to be a long weekend.

I personally don't believe in the claims that cleanses give out and there are dangers to doing cleanses, but it is up to you to decide what treatment you want.  Did you go to a doctor and get stool testing for parasites?  The parasites are almost surely not in your blood and even if you have GI problems, you most likely don't literately have a "weak" gut/leaky bowel syndrome.  Therefore I think it is extremely unlikely that you have parasites in your brain.  Your lymphocytes are perfectly normal and you are at no greater risk than anyone else for developing these issues.  I can see from your profile that you have had problems with anxiety and depression in the past few months so I would recommend following up on this to make sure these issues are not adding to your problems.  Good luck with everything.

Ok. i in fact DO have parasites. Ive been doing a cleanse for the last week, and its showing results.

Ive got a weak gut, those parasites are in my blood. There is Nothing stopping them from making an attack on my brain. While my lymphocytes arent extremely low, they Are lower than id like. This is an opening for parasitic infection. I need a doctors Opinion, becuase i am going through a whole series of tests, for unrelated brain stuff.... i need to start another thread in neuro.

We have different opinions on this subject.  From my research I have concluded that plastic leaking chemicals into the water is urban legend, bottled water is very regulated at least in the US, and even if it does have sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in it, that is one of the most mundane chemicals there is.

The percentage of lymphocytes is not as important as the actual amount, because it is affected by the other types of white blood cells.  What is important is the actual amount of lymphocytes and according to your lab, yours are perfectly normal and definitely not considered "extremely low" and I don't think you have anything to worry about with that.  I have never heard of the units "UI", but maybe you mean "IU" or "uL".

Well for starters, the plastic leeches chemicals into the water. Bottled water is nearly unregulated. And sometimes has added "minerals" in it, such as sodium bicarbonate. Look at the chemicals in plastic that can leech into bottled water.

I wont say that the research is through, but common sense still has some merit.. i hope.

My blood results are 11% and the K/Ul is 1.1  ... preferred is 20-45% and 0.8-4.0K/UL

They arent under safe levels, but they are still fairly low.

All test results have units associated with them.  For example, where I get my blood drawn, lymphocytes come in % and in K/uL.  If you get a copy of your test results, it will tell you what the units are.

The difference between bottled water and tap water is a couple of nutrients.  These nutrients do very very little in your body.  There are some places where entire communities only drink bottled water, because the tap water is not healthy.  There are all these rumors going out around that bottled water can cause all types of problems from cancer to kidney stones.  Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I personally believe that these things are not true.

Also please explain why bottled water is not a sound reason for lowering the immune system.

units? It says 11 on the paper, but my doctor says its "2".

What are the units of your lymphocyte levels?  Also, I consider the theory that drinking bottled water lowers your lymphocytes, as absurd.

2. My lymphocyte levels are at 2. My BUN is also 2.

Exactly 1 month ago, my lymphocytes were at 15. That was approximately Another 1 month after i started drinking STRICTLY bottled water, for various reasons. i Think, and am very sure, that this is the cause of my low lymphocytes. i have since Stopped drinking bottled water. Im hoping ill see a rise in my levels when i get my full blood count redone. I dont know how long it will take to Undo, what ive done to myself, unknowingly. Its been said that bottled water, can suppress your bone marrow, which is where your lymphocytes are located, as far as im aware.

A low BUN, however, can simply be caused by drinking too much water.

How low are your lymphocytes?

Yes, but like i said, my lymphocytes, that protect your from such bacterial/viral/fungal etc invaders, are very low. My blood brain barrier is totally exposed. But my White blood cell count was normal, just my lymphocytes are low.

If you consumed eggs of a parasite that were living in someone elses intestines, you are in some danger of having those eggs mature into larvae, and living inside you, to eventually hatch and become fully mature.  However you are not really in any danger of them going to your brain.

Even considering that i have chrons and my lymphocytes are extremely low.. which im being told by my doctor is "ok", as the immune system will fluctuate at times. It seems that right now, i would be vulnerable to a parasitic infection.

So even if i consumed eggs of a parasite that were living in someone elses intestines, i am in no real danger of having those eggs mature into larvae, and living inside me, to eventually hatch and become fully mature?

Is it possible to have a parasite in your brain, but nowhere else in your body? Yes, but that would be very rare.

How long would a parasite live inside a persons brain? That really depends on the type of parasite.

How long after infection would it take for a the parasite to go from the intestine to the brain?  Once again, that really depends on the type of parasite.

Am I potentially in danger of having a parasite attach itself to the inside of my small intestine and maturing, resulting in its journey to my brain?  Realistically, no.

Is it only possible to get worms in your brain, if you actually eat the pork of an infected pig? No, there are other ways to get worms in your brain, but all of these (including eating the pork of an infected pig) are extremely extremely rare.

Cysticercosis, not Neurocysticercosis.

And my first questions are still the purpose of the thread.
